Ignition Entertainment has now announced it has signed a deal with Japanese developer SNK/Playmore to co-publish the latter's games in North America. With Ignition already published a number of SNK's titles in Europe, the two companies will be expanding on an existing working relationship. The first title released under the new agreement will be Metal Slug 7, the latest installment in the long-running side-scrolling action series. The Nintendo DS game is the first main title in the franchise not to feature a corresponding arcade version. Said SNK/Playmore board member Soichiro Hosoya, "We are very happy to be working further with Ignition Entertainment, as we currently have a very positive, trusting and prosperous relationship." Raising the stakes on the ceremonial formalities, Ignition president Ajay Chadha added, "This partnership brings in a new era for our company. We welcome this great union between SNK and Ignition."
