Havok has released a new rigid body physics technology aimed at the extreme game development market. Havok Hardcore is a game SDK offering rigid bodies, constraints, cars and rag dolls with a full range of support tools, demos and documentation. The Havok Hardcore SDK offers collision detection, rigid body response, fast general constraints, specific car and ragdoll constraints, a 3D Studio MAX exporter, sensors, events & callback functions, a rapid prototyping layer, and debugging and profiling support. The SDK comes with a complete set of demos, tutorials and documentation. The full Havok game SDK includes all of the Havok Hardcore functionality and additionally offers fully integrated soft bodies, cloth, particles, rope and fluids. Havok Hardcore is priced at $40,000 for the first title per platform, while the Havok SDK is priced at $75,000. Havok technology is multi-platform (PC, Mac, PS2 and Xbox) and integrates with many other middleware solutions currently available, such as 3D graphics, AI, character animation and sound engines.
