Harmonix Confirms Rock Band Wii Version

Harmonix and MTV Games, along with distribution partner Electronic Arts, have confirmed they will release a Rock Band bundle - including drums and wireless guitar - for Nintendo's Wii in the U.S. and Canada on June 22, 2008.

Harmonix and MTV Games, along with distribution partner Electronic Arts have announced they will release Rock Band on the Wii in the U.S. and Canada on June 22, 2008. Rock Band for Wii will release as a Special Edition bundle that include the software, drums, microphone and a wireless guitar, retailing for $169.99. The companies say that stand-alone instrument peripherals for the Wii version of the game will be available on June 22nd. Stand-alone instruments for the existing PS3 and Xbox 360 version of the game have been previously announced, planned for an April 1st launch at retail. Nintendo licensing VP Steve Singer commented, "The social interaction and addictive nature of the Rock Band experience is a perfect fit for the Wii and will undoubtedly be fun for the entire family,” says Steve Singer, licensing VP from Nintendo.
