Organizers of the 7th Annual Golden Trailer Awards announced the results of their competition for best trailers, which were awarded to contributors across multiple categories, including an award for Electronic Arts' The Godfather. The 7th Annual Golden Trailer Awards program consisted of 16 categories across a range of topics. The program was established by Evelyn Brady and Monica Brady in New York City in 1999 and has grown to become one of the most anticipated film events of the year. The event honors the most original and entertaining trailers, and now has a branding mark to help consumers identify the best movie trailers. Electronic Arts' The Godfather was the solitary video game related winner at the event, with EA and Hammer Creative taking home the award for Best Video Game Trailer. Other non-game awards went to Mission: Impossible III for Best of Show, Summer 2006 Blockbuster, and Best Action Winner; Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire for Best Animation/Family Winner; Wedding Crashers "The Masters" for Best Comedy; Good Night & Good Luck for Best Drama; The Exorcism of Emily Rose for Best Horror; and Transamerica for Best Independent. Further winners named were Happy Feet for Best Music, Pride & Prejudice for Best Romance, and Match Point for Best Thriller. March of the Penguins won for both Best Voice Over and Best Documentary. Into the Blue was awarded the Golden Fleece award, while Thank You for Smoking was given the award for Most Original. Three was given the rather dubious award for Trashiest Trailer, while the Special Audience Award for Trashiest Trailer went to both Beer League and Domino: Teaser 1.
