Gigex, an outsourced ASP that helps game publishers launch and distribute game demos, announced GigexTV, a new service to distribute high-quality console game trailers on the Internet. GigexTV provides users several "channels" of DVD-quality; full screen trailers that download in the background then play from the PC disk. GigexTV delivers and plays console trailers for Sony PlayStation and PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo GameCube. GigexTV features include non-intrusive delivery of trailers, tracking and distribution data for each product, real-time demand graphs, follow-up email and product-specific links to retail and pre-order sites. GigexTV can be viewed anytime from a PC, either online or offline.
