GIC software has announced that it has filed for a patent on its OS land, a new game system for hand held devices using the Palm Operating System. OS land permits multiple players to chat in real time, and play games together over the internet with anyone world wide who has a Palm OS based computer. Up to four players can play in most of the world’s major languages. GIC plans to provide the program free to the public, basing it on the system used by the NTT Docomo I-mode server. When a user connects to the GIC game system via an ISP, a micro account is created, and an automatic billing by the carrier is added to the users monthly bill.
