Officials from publisher and developer Game Factory Interactive (GFi), which has offices in Seattle, Moscow and the Ukraine, have announced that the company has acquired Moscow based studio MiST land South and all of its holdings. MiST land South president Vitaly Shutov has also been appointed as development director of PC projects at GFi. One of the key terms of the deal is the organization of a new development studio around MiST land South. The developer was founded in 1996, and has produced PC titles such as Napoleon 1805-1813, Paradise Cracked and Cops 2170: The Power Of Law. The studio is currently working on new titles WarFare and Jagged Alliance 3D. The company also works localizing foreign titles for the Russian marks, with over forty titles so far translated. "We are glad that now we can fully depend on [the] marketing and PR support of GFi, which we plan to employ for in-house and side projects, bringing them to [a] maximum level of quality from the viewpoint of game technology, as well as from the depth of gameplay", commented Vitaly Shutov. "Previous experience with MiST land South has shown us that this team can develop high quality products, essential in our internal market as well as in foreign markets", said GFi CEO Slava Plotnikov. GFi also intends to announce further re-organizations and third party deals in the coming weeks, as it continues to expands its business in Russia and abroad.
