Image processing company Genemation has announced the launch of its new patented facial customization platform FaceTec, which allows users to insert their faces into a number of digital products on the web and in mobile, and video games. The company says images can be uploaded from any digital device including mobile phones, web cams, digital cameras, through websites, or via gaming devices like the PlayStation 3's EyeToy. The FaceTec software then "automatically finds and modifies a faces in an uploaded image in less than two seconds," where it can be inserted into any number of the above applications. Genemation says the software could be used for applications like advertisements, sports related photos, virtual makeup and fashion applications, film and TV promotions, and more.
