Major middleware firm Emergent Game Technologies has announced the launch of Emergent Elements, a new set of modular game development tools that brings together stand-alone metrics, automation and 3D graphics technologies into a flexible, integrated framework. The first tools to be launched under the Emergent Elements brand include: - Gamebryo Element: Flexible 3D graphics engine optimized for next-gen consoles that also integrates the Ageia PhysX SDK. The Gamebryo Element is the next generation of Gamebryo, the graphics engine behind recent titles such as Firaxis's Sid Meier's Civilization IV, and future games like Bethesda Softworks' The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. - Metrics Element: Tools for collecting, analyzing and distributing any game data, from development to live game operations, all within a simple web-based user interface. - Automation Element: Advanced tools for automating common development processes including builds and server operations. Each Emergent Element is available independently or as part of an integrated set of tools. All Emergent Elements support development on the latest console and PC platforms including Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Elements communicate information to the developer through a single dashboard that provides constantly updated views and analysis of game information, intelligence and data throughout the development lifecycle. Emergent Game Technologies' CEO Geoffrey Selzer sees the Elements framework as a major step forward in the evolution of game development, commenting: "This is the first time a company has offered such a range of capabilities addressing every phase of game development."
