GameCube Launch Date Announced

<a href="http://www.nintendo.com">Nintendo</a> set November 5, 2001 as the U.S. launch date for the GameCube.

That date sets up a showdown with Microsoft's Xbox, slated for a November 8th release. The GameCube is scheduled to be launched in Japan on September 14, and at an unspecified date in Europe early next year. Pricing details and a complete game line-up will be announced at an investor meeting on May 24.
