Organizers of the Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival 2006 (EIEF06) have announced which games will featured during the event's one day screening on August 22nd at the Odeon, Lothian Road. The event offers members of the public a chance to get up close with the creators of several anticipated and unreleased video game titles. The annual event will play host to several previously unseen titles such as Turbine and Codemasters' Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, Eidos’ controversial Reservoir Dogs, and Blitz's Spongebob Squarepants, which aims to propel the children's icon onto next-generation platforms. Eidos' Ian Livingstone will also present The Legend of Lara Croft. In addition, Microsoft and Real Time Worlds' nonlinear and freeform action title Crackdown, which is being helmed by David Jones, creator of the Lemmings and Grand Theft Auto series, will also be showcased at the event. The game was previously unveiled during E3 in May behind closed doors. Organizers have also confirmed a set of specially tailored screenings for students that will include an industry expert panel entitled ‘How To Get Into Gaming’, as well as a panel titled “Sex, Drugs, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Games”, which will be comprised of industry experts, journalists and opinion formers as they tackle the issue of censorship. Aside from the screenings, the EIEF06 program consists of 2 days of conference sessions, named 'The Industry Conference', which will take place at the Royal College of Physicians on August 21st and at the Odeon, Lothian Road on August 22nd. Additionally, the event will see industry figures gather at the Jam House for the annual Edge Award and networking party on August 21st.
