Representatives from Norwegian-headquartered publisher and developer Funcom have announced that the release date for massively multiplayer online game (MMO) Age Of Conan: Hyborian Adventures has been put back to the March 25th, 2008 following feedback from beta testing of the title. The game was originally intended for launch in the second half of 2007, after receiving some positive feedback during previews over the last year. Funcom has not been specific about what areas are in need of improvement in the game, with founder and game producer/director Gaute Godager hinting only that “we still see that we need to polish some aspects of the game even further, especially when it comes to the entry barriers.” “We naturally regret that we have to push back Age of Conan," said Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas. "However, after careful consideration, and analysis of recent beta feedback, we believe that the new release date is in the best interest of the gamers, our company and our owners." “We are fully committed to delivering games with absolute qualities," he continued, "and in the current MMO marketplace we know that only the best is good enough to truly succeed. With the new release date we have therefore given ourselves more time to meet and deliver on the massive expectations for the game. We are certain that our choice will ultimately pay off, and that all Age of Conan players will get a special online experience.”
