In what remains a relatively rare occurrence in the games industry Japanese developer publisher From Software (makers of the likes of Armored Core and Otogi) have bought all world-wide copyrights and trademarks for the Tenchu series, from current owners Activision. One of the most prominent ninja themed games in the West, all new titles in the series, including the forthcoming Tenchu Kurenai, will now be handled by From, either in-house or through an external studio. The company, which published all three previous games in Japan, also plans to extend the franchise outside of just games, presumably meaning anime and manga. Source: The Magic Box
