Former Far Cry, Crysis, and Assassin's Creed developers have come together under the recently founded Gunzilla Games, with an eye on creating a new IP in the triple-A shooter genre.

The new studio is led by former Crytek exec and investor Alexander Zoll alongside "serial entrepreneur" Vlad Korolev and, according to a press release, aims to create triple-A shooters for "the next generation of video game technologies" that "tell amazing stories without sacrificing on gameplay".

At debut, the studio has already secured $25 million in funding, which that press release notes comes from Gamegroove, a holding company Zoll and Korolev previously co-founded together.

Already, the studio has a number of devs with experience on games like Far Cry, Crysis, Assassinā€™s Creed, Watch Dogs, Total War, and Need for Speed on board, but Gunzilla notes it plans to use that $25 million in funding to help further staff up.
