Reyes Inforgraphica, and Spain based software development company has put its plug-ins for the popular 3d Studio Max 3 out on the Web for free. The plug-ins being offered are ClothReyes, MetaReyes, DirtyReyes, CartoonReyes, SurfReyes and JetaReyes. MetaReyes is a software package for building digital high-resolution models of both animals and people. CartoonReyes offers a 3D to 2D renderer. DirtyReyes brings a weathering tool to enhance realism on models. JetaReyes provides a gesture synthesis system. ClothReyes, a system for cloth simulation, was used in the first virtual fashion show by the French designer Thierry Mugler. SurfReyes enhances 3d Studio Max 3 with a subdivision surface system that generates complex surfaces of varying curvature. Reyes Infographica is currently working on developing new versions for the recently released 3D Studio Max 4, which will optimized for Itanium, the first 64-bit microprocessor from Intel.
