The 2006 Russian Game Developers Conference (abbreviated, due to the Cyrillic alphabet, as KRI) has been announced for April 7th through 9th, at the Kosmos Hotel in Moscow. The event is a meeting for industry professionals to discuss issues relating to development, publishing, and distribution in Russian territories. The fourth annual KRI (not associated with the CMP Game Group's GDC products) will host lecture, panels, and roundtables on various topics relating to game development, as well as product debuts and the annual KRI awards ceremony, Russia's only professional game awards. In addition, the event will a Projects Fair where independent developers from the Russian development scene can show their games to interested publishers, with an eye toward obtaining distribution contracts for their titles. New to the KRI in 2006 is a separate Business Lounge, a quieter area away from the main show floors where various parties can meet to transact deals made at the show. Registration for the event can be accomplished at the KRI 2006 website, which is available in both Russian and English.
