Firelight Technologies has released a new version of its FMOD sound system. The new release includes support for Macintosh, Playstation 2 and XBox support, on top of the already existing Windows, Linux and PocketPC support. FMOD handles all aspects of audio, including 3D sound, midi, mods, mp3, ogg vorbis, wma, aiff, recording, obstruction/occlusion, cd playback, mmx, internet streaming, dsp and special effects, spectrum analysis, user created samples and streams, synchronization support, EAX 2&3 and more through a simple cross platform API. Single product licenses start at $1,250, with site licenses starting at $3,200.
