Suite creator Emergent has announced that it has partnered with Softimage to bring XSI animation software pipeline integration to Emergent's Gamebryo development middleware. Emergent says the integration is part of a broader strategy to "offer a wide range of game production software and design tools within the Gamebryo framework," anda will allow developers to choose the content creation tools that best meets their needs. Specifically, the developer says XSI support was chosen to address the need to "create photo realistic, high definition animations set against a backdrop of tight budgets and ever-shrinking bring-to-market cycles." Said Emergent CEO Geoffrey Selzer, “We are constantly listening to our customers’ requirements and are dedicated to addressing the global needs of our clients. Integrating with Softimage is key to our global strategy. This partnership is another example of how our standardized flexible framework is designed to mold to the needs of the industry just like our leading partner program. These initiatives allow our product to be at the heart of the development process and empower developers with an abundance of choices for their pipeline.”
