Emergent Hires Three For Element Team

Gamebryo engine developers Emergent have announced the hiring of C++ engineer Stanley Lippman and industry vets Lee Fancey and David Gregory to help tackle the software's scalability and pipeline management technology.

Gamebryo engine developers Emergent have announced the hiring of C++ engineer Stanley Lippman and industry vets Lee Fancey and David Gregory to help tackle the software's scalability and pipeline management technology. Lippman has been hired as the company's senior server engineer where he will be responsible for its Server Element, as well as server-specific content creation tools. Previous to joining the company, Lippman worked at both Microsoft and Bell Laboratories where he served as architect for the C++ language. Lippman also worked in the feature animation departments for both DreamWorks and Walt Disney, with credits including Fantasia 2000, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan and Tarzan. Fancey has been taken on as Emergent's Walnut Creek studio head, where he will oversee a number of operations including tool building and the creation of scalable software development practices. Fancey comes to the company from Electronic Arts, where he oversaw the build system, production and automation development with credits including The Sims Online, Sims 2, Sims 2 Console, Godfather and most recently Spore. Finally, Gregory has been hired as Emergent's system architect with a focus on scalable pipelines and rapid iteration. Gregory, too, has come to the company from Electronic Arts, where he was development director of The Sims 2 and led the creation of the first "from source" content build system. Gregory has also worked on The Sims Livin' Large, The Sims House Party, Tiger Woods PGA '07 and Soviet Strike, and was co-senior development director at EA Redwood Shores and Maxis.
