Eidos has withdrawn a cell phone messaging ad campaign for Commandos 2 after a British advertising watchdog complained about the content.

Thousands of mobile phone users received spoof messages from Eidos asking them to report for military duty, “Please report to your local army recruitment center immediately for your 2nd tour of duty. Commandos 2 on PC, It's More Real Than Real Life -- out today from Eidos," The campaign was halted after Britain's Advertising Standards Authority suggested that the ad might distress recipients due to the current climate of war.
