Representatives from Eidos have announced that the company has acquired Danish developers IO Interactive for an undisclosed sun. The developer is best know for the titles Hitman and Freedom Fighters, and is already working on the third game in the Hitman series for Eidos. Freedom Fighters though was originally published by Electronic Arts, so the state of that franchise is unclear. Eidos have though indicated that they intend to use IO Interactive’s software technology in other games from different developers and have intimated that it will form the basis of many of the company’s upcoming next-generation titles.
