In a surprising move it transpires that EA have acquired the rights to the next game in the highly acclaimed Burnout series. Developed by UK company Criterion, the previous two instalments in the franchise were published by Acclaim. No reason has been given for the move and indeed little is known about the game, save rumours about an online mode – which will now have to be shelved on the Xbox, due to EA’s policy towards Xbox Live.
