EA, Digital Illusions Sign Long-Term Publishing Agreement

Electronic Arts and Digital Illusions, C.E. (DICE) announced a strategic investment and long-term publishing agreement for games developed by DICE studios.

EA has purchased a minority interest in DICE and licensed the worldwide publishing rights for future products developed by DICE. In 2002, DICE developed Battlefield 1942 for EA, which has gone on to sell over 900,000 units to date. Last month EA released an expansion pack for the game titled Battlefield: The Road to Rome. Digital Illusions was founded in 1992, and has headquarters in in Gothenburg, Sweden. It has offices in Stockholm and Gothenburg (Sweden) and London (Ontario, Canada), and employs over 170 people. Besides Battlefield 1942, the company recently developed Shrek for the Xbox and RalliSport Challenge for the Xbox and PC.
