Organizer IDG has announced that Electronic Arts has announced that it has officially signed on board for an exhibit at this year's consumer oriented E For All Expo, scheduled for October 18-21 at the LA Convention Center, former home of E3. IDG says that the publisher's participation "expands the range of the latest video game titles that consumers will be able to test drive and buy at E for All before they hit store shelves for the holidays," but no specific EA titles to be shown have yet been announced. In March, Gamasutra received information that both Nintendo and Sony have planned large booth presences at the event - though, since the main show floor is currently limited to the LACC's South Hall, the two will maintain smaller spaces than in previous E3 exhibitions. Although primarily a consumer event, the four day expo is seen as a partial replacement for the now significantly downsized E3 event, which also traditionally took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center – albeit in May and intended for press and trade visitors only. While the event will host a selection of new video games and technologies, representatives have noted that the expo will also feature other activities, including a performance by the Video Games Live concert series and an installment of the World Series of Video Games gaming tournament. Said IDG CEO Mary Dolaher, "Electronic Arts' participation reflects the essence of E for All - providing consumers with unprecedented access to the leading video game companies in the business. No matter what role you play in the world of video games, E for All is designed for you, because its focus is on what matters - the games. Just like EA's products, E for All is made for all kinds of gamers. We're thrilled to have EA's involvement in this inaugural event and to be able to bring their products to our attendees."
