The 100-person studio, noted for producing sports titles including Sega’s NHL 2K series and Midway’s NHL Hitz, has worked with EA on the Need for Speed and NASCAR Thunder franchises. "We have had a great relationship with EA as an outside developer for several years," said Black Box CEO Paul Tremblay, " becoming part of the world's largest and most talented game development studio is an absolute thrill." Black Box Games will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Electronic Arts. Financial terms were not disclosed.
