Officials from in-game advertising firm Double Fusion and online game publisher K2 Network have announced a multi-year deal to include advertising in the upcoming PC online military shooter War Rock. The deal will cover both in-game advertisements, as well as opportunities for advertisers to sponsor organized competitions, maps of new areas over the life of the game, and the availability of items or services players can purchase. Double Fusion will be able to package these sponsorships within both 2D and 3D advertisements and product placement opportunities present throughout the game. War Rock, developed by South Korean developer Dream Execution Technology, will be released on February 6, and is described as a tactical first person shooter that offers players a variety of customizable weaponry, vehicles, and modes of play. The game is currently in open beta, and is free and open to all players as part of K2 Network's Free2Play gaming service, though players do have the option of purchasing access to an assortment of extra gameplay enhancements should they wish. “The style and quality of War Rock’s gameplay, its free availability and its resultant mass appeal to the coveted 18-34 year-old male demographic make it the ideal addition to Double Fusion’s network,” said Jonathan Epstein, President and CEO of Double Fusion. “Our sales team has tremendous experience building sponsorships for online multiplayer games, and is truly excited about the broad range of both dynamic opportunities and tournament sponsorship capabilities War Rock provides.”
