Discreet has announced that its new 3DS Max 5, unvieled this week at Siggraph, will start finding its way into the hands of customers starting Monday, July 29. Notable animation enhancement for version 5 include new bone tools, charecter node function, set-key animation, skin pose, morphing, spline IK, function curve and dope sheet editors, integrated dynamics, and weighted controlers. Other new features include a re-designed UV interface and new polygonal modeling tools. 3DS Max 5 is available for Windows 2000 and XP, at an MSRP of $3,495 with an uption to upgrade from Max 4 for $795 or from Max 3 for $1,495.
