Discreet announced today a new release of gmax, the company's free level editing tool. gmax 1.2 is now compatible with Discreet's plasma, the company's recently released 3D design tool for web animation. That interoperability lets you create/enhance game characters in gmax, then export them to plasma for further modification and eventual export to a Flash file. gmax 1.2 has also been optimizated for the Intel P4 and includes a number of general software fixes. Developers interested in making their games gmax-ready can join the Discreet sparks Developer Support program at http://sparks.discreet.com.
