Developer GameBrains Signs $11.6m Wii/DS Deal

Representatives from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia based developer GameBrains have announced that the company has signed a $11.6 million development deal for multiple titles on the Wii and Nintendo DS. The games will be developed on both platforms simultaneously, with staggered development of the titles over the duration of the project. The games are based on “well-known animated intellectual properties” with a worldwide publishing already signed with an unnamed publisher. The company was established in 1998 and has produced games including the Backyard series of sports titles and a number of Game Boy Color titles such as Madden 2002, The Mummy Returns and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. At the same time as the new development deal the company has also moved into a new 10,000 square foot headquarters in Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, leaving behind their offices in the Petronas Twin Towers - the world's tallest building. “These projects will ensure our continued presence as one of Southeast-Asia’s leading game developers, and drive our continued expansion for years to come,” said GameBrains CEO Brett Bibby.
