UK-based game publisher Empire Interactive has announced that it will utilize DemonWare’s Matchmaking+ networking suite for its upcoming Starship Troopers title. Empire will use the Matchmaking+ tools to incorporate seamless online multiplayer action into the game. "Gamers expect a lot from a modern multiplayer game and we wanted to continue to lift the bar for their online experience. DemonWare’s Matchmaking+ provided us with a great set of tools and all the support necessary to quickly and effectively deliver a great online gaming experience for Starship Troopers”, said Doug Binks, Studio Head of Strangelite, the developer behind the title. Multiplayer lobby services, the key elements of DemonWare’s suite, will be included in the game. The Matchmaking+ toolkit also adds other features for development studios using it, including full voice support, compatibility with in-house network technology and game engines, encryption, matchmaking, and statistics. DemonWare's suite also has its sights set for the future of gaming as well, with cross-platform support for the coming next-gen consoles, and an announcement of support for Xbox Live Teams for the upcoming Xbox 360.
