California based publisher and developer Conspiracy Entertainment has announced the appointment of industry veteran Marco Husges as the company's executive vice president. In his new role, Husges will be responsible for prospecting and forming licensing and publishing deals with global interactive entertainment and media companies, implementing marketing strategies and providing growth potential to the firm. According to the company, Husges has already played an instrumental role in securing recent partnerships between such companies as 10tacle Studios AG, Data Design and Neko Entertainment. Most recently, Husges served as the managing director for German-based peripheral publisher and distributor Dolphin Techtronix, where he was responsible for the company's international product acquisition and marketing. Previously he was also involved with the development and publishing of software titles such as Starbreeze's Enclave and the Wolfpack Studios-developed MMORPG Shadowbane. Conspiracy is perhaps best known for importing niche Japanese titles such as Treasure’s Bangai-O for the Dreamcast and Stretch Panic for the PlayStation 2 to North America, through the company announced earlier this year that it is also looking for potential licenses and developers for its efforts to support the Wii. "We're very pleased to welcome Marco to our team. His hands-on knowledge of design and development of games for the European market, along with his well-established network of international contacts, are assets unique to building our international presence,” commented Sirus Ahmadi, president of Conspiracy Entertainment. “With Marco spearheading our sales and distribution strategies, we expect to rapidly build our portfolio of video game titles.”
