Publisher Conspiracy Entertainment has announced the release of Biathlon 2008 for the PlayStation 2, a newly developed sports title which is following up on the apparent sales success of the firm's Winter Sports for Wii. With Winter Sports appearing in a number of recent Amazon.com Wii charts as a top-seller, Biathlon 2008 comes recommended by biathlon stars Magdalena Neuner, and includes cross-country skiing and shooting as part of the gameplay. According to the firm, the European-developed game includes the original World Cup and World Championship tracks in Oberhof, Oestersund and Ruhpolding. Apart from original athletes, original tracks and the official rules for the disciplines of Sprint, Individual, Pursuit and Mass Start, Biathlon 2008 also features an extensive career mode. Sirus Ahmadi, president of Conspiracy Entertainment, said, "Biathlon 2008 is enjoying rapid market acceptance. The excitement of this sports simulation game provides an authentic experience alongside world-class athletes. With Wii: Winter Sports attracting such a strong following for us, we were pleased to bring to market a similarly thrilling action packed game that lets PS2 owners 'go for the gold' in a Winter Wonderland."
