As previously promised, representatives from Commodore Gaming have revealed specific details of the company’s new range of high end PC products to be branded with the Commodore name and logo. The Commodore brand was made famous in the ‘80s and ‘90s with the 8-bit Commodore 64 home computer and the 16-bit Amiga family, with new company Commodore Gaming being formed to reintroduce the brand to the market, initially via TV consoles and a portable GPS device, and now via a range of gaming PCs. The new PCs will be launched tomorrow at the CeBIT 2007 show in Germany, with four different models named Cg, Cgs, Cgx and Cxx. These are described as ranging from an entry level gaming PC to an “extreme specification model”. Each machine runs Windows Vista and can be customized from a range of high end components and peripherals. The high end Cxx model features the following hardware specification as standard: Processor: IntelR CoreT2 Extreme quad-core processor QX6700, 2.66 8M Cache Motherboard: ASUSR P5N32-E nForce 680i SLI Hard drive/Storage: 2x 150Gb 10000 Rpm Sata Raid 0, 1x 500Gb 7200 Rpm Sata Memory:, 4 Gb Corsair Dominator twin2x2048-8500C5D, 1066MHz I/O: 7in1 cardreader; (Front) USBx2 Firewire x 1 HeadPhone x 1 MicroPhone x 1 Optical: Philips DVDRW Power Supply: 1000W ICE Cube PSU Audio: CreativeR SoundBlaster X-Fi Graphics: 2x nVidia 8800 GTX 768MB OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Each PC can also be customized with selected schemes including a graffiti scheme, photography designs and artwork licensed from PC games – with Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 being used as a current example. The concept is similar to that of Xbox 360 face plates, with the different designs being referred to as “C=kins”. Other unusual features include two multi-colored LED lights inside the fans which can be customised by the user.
