Coalescent Technologies Corporation has announced the first release of its low-cost, customizable training tool, which is called Deployable Infantry Simulation for Military Operations in Urban Terrain (DISMOUT), and was developed using GarageGames' Torque Engine. DISMOUT is a fully interactive, three-dimensional training system providing a premium synthetic environment in which team members may practice small unit tactics while responding to changing training requirements and emerging missions. DISMOUT can be used for mission rehearsal or to teach small unit doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures for military, peace keeping, first response, hazardous material response, and numerous other operations. The software includes numerous features, including support for network-based or client-based training, customized mission recording and after action review (AAR) options. DISMOUT also features scripting capabilities, customizable A.I., and mission editing tools that include scenario creation control, as well as support for A.I. waypoints and triggers, scripting, and placeable objects such as structures, vehicles, and aircrafts. “DISMOUT and our migration of our Virtual Incident Management System (VIMS) first responder training tool to Torque as marking a significant shift away from proprietary engines with limited user controls to even more robust products that provide much greater flexibility for us as developers and for our customers,” commented Coalescent’s CEO, Ken Whitmore. “As a true pioneer in the area of creating and adapting pc-based simulations for Government and military use, we are very excited about this decision to take another giant step ahead of the pack.” DISMOUT is built on GarageGames' Torque game engine and is one of the family of virtual battlefield simulation software training capabilities available as components of Coalescent’s Mobile Virtual Training Capability (MVTC) turnkey training concept. Currently, DISMOUT is being installed on each MVTC unit delivered to the Army National Guard.
