Gamasutra parent company CMP and Connection Events have announced that the second French Game Developers Conference will take place at the Coeur Défense in Paris June 23-24th, with a focus on "building great games both core and casual."

Connection Events and CMP, organisers of the much anticipated second Game Developers Conference (GDC) in France, announced today the conference will be held on June 23-24, at the Coeur Défense in Paris. The event, which expands on the success of the first GDC held in Lyon in December 2007 is set to welcome hundreds of game industry experts. The French GDC edition is an extension of the Game Developers Conference, the largest global event dedicated to game creation held in San Francisco each year. Paris GDC 08 will draw top developers from the European community and the rest of the world eager to learn, inspire, and network, and will present a comprehensive line-up of bilingual sessions in a full 2-day program. The key goal is to share expertise and breakthroughs in the modern multi-platformed game development ecosystem. Paris GDC 08 is actively seeking seasoned developers and industry professionals to submit their session proposals via its website by March 7, 2008. The event is structured around core technical expertise, with the main focus of the content on state-of-the-art current generation console and PC development, including multi-platform development. Sessions will drill down into the five main development disciplines through dedicated tracks: Programming/Coding, Game Design, Graphical Arts, Production/Project Management and Business/Management. "We were delighted with the success of the first French GDC held in 2007 and are confident that Paris GDC will bring together even more talented developers from around the world, now in a more central location and the home of the biggest development studios in the country," says Pierre Carde, executive director of Paris GDC 08. The event will feature content programmed by an advisory board consisting of expert developers, both European and international, who share a commitment to promote and support the region's contributions to the industry.
