CMP Game Group, organizers of the Game Developers Conference and GDC Mobile, as well as parent group of Gamasutra and its sister mobile site GamesOnDeck has announced the first Mobile Games Seminar to be held September 27-28, 2007 at the Los Angeles Marriott Downtown. The seminar is to offer attendees the knowledge and tools crucial to shortening mobile game development cycles through lectures and tutorials on programming, production, art, design and audio. The seminar is to also explore a variety of business options, including alternative distribution and merchandising models. Speaker submissions are now being accepted through June 8 on topics covering: - New approaches to solving technical issues on different platforms and SDKs, including: J2ME, BREW, Flash Lite, Windows Mobile and N-Gage; - The complexities of production pipelines, porting, testing and certification; - Techniques to enable enhanced graphic APIs and audio; - Success stories on self-publishing for mobile games and the pros and cons of licensed content Attendees will also be able to meet and network with industry professionals ranging from programmers, producers and designers from leading game companies and independent studios to senior executives from carriers, handset manufacturers, technology companies and platform providers.
