The Canadian Game Studies Association has launched its inaugural issue of Loading..., a new, interdisciplinary journal for game design. Specifically, Loading... is dedicated to supporting research, scholarship, programming and art work generated by Canadian academics, artists, students and game developers. Loading… will be published online bi-annually, and in print annually. The journal invites papers which approach research and scholarship in the field of game studies from its many angles, such as social, cultural, technical, theoretical, procedural, and artistic. It aims to support a polarization of interdisciplinary, multi-method and multimodal approaches to the study of digital games. Its principal goal is to support both the established and fledgling work of Canadian scholars, to give them a voice on the international scene of cultural, therefore invites not only Canadian voice in a field that is currently described as a polarization of journal aims to the United States and Europe. Loading... will support the valuable contribution of Canadian scholarship in directing and shaping this burgeoning field. Subscription to the journal is free by registering at the official Loading... website.
