Organizers of the Arcadia Festival have announced further details of the event, to be held in Montreal on November 4th, 5th and 6th. The Arcadia Festival will be the first and only public video games event in Canada, with five different themed areas for visitors to explore. The five zones will be housed within a 20,000 square foot area, the first being the Flashback Zone, which will feature rare titles, on machines ranging from the Coleco to the 3DO, supplied by the Quebec Video Game Collectors Club and the Classic Gaming Collectors of Canada. The Gaming Zone will house new and current titles with sections devoted to Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony-related consoles, as well as demonstrations from Montreal based developers such as Ubisoft, Electronic Arts and A2M. Meanwhile, the Sympatico/MSN PC Zone will alternate between showcasing edutainment titles in the daytime and traditional PC online titles in the evening. The Arcademic Zone will host a number of conferences, demonstrations and creative workshops, approved by TechoCompétences, presented by the Collège Lasalle and supervised by professor Samuelle Ducrocq-Henry. Finally, the Arcadia Scene will feature various live musical performances and celebrity competitions. Further information on the Festival Arcadia can be found at the official website.
