Brash Entertainment (Alvin and the Chipmunks) have announced a new partnership with Vanguard Animation and Starz Media to produce a game based on the forthcoming Space Chimps film from Shrek producer John Williams and Men In Black producer Barry Sonnenfeld. Brash says the forthcoming CGI animated film revolves around a circus chimp named Ham, the grandson of the first primate sent into space. Ham is chosen to lead a publicity stunt mission into space himself, and is subsequently stranded on a "bizarre yet beautiful world" and "must prove that he really does have 'the right stuff.'" The game, expected to arrive on the Xbox 360, PS2, Wii, and DS this summer, will "offer players a unique storyline that chronicles the quest of Ham and Luna as they overcome the perils of an alien planet in search of Earth’s lost Infinity Space Probe." Said Brash co-founder, chairman and CEO Mitch Davis, “The Space Chimps movie introduces a loveable cast of characters that fans will be quite fond of. We’ve collaborated with Vanguard to create a game that incorporates the characters and world of the movie while building a unique storyline with new characters, giving fans the opportunity to be able live in the ‘Space Chimps’ world a little longer.”
