Australian Trade Association CEO Bondar Leaves GDAA

Game Developers’ Association of Australia CEO Greg Bondar has announced he will be resigning from his role after 18 months with the association, with COO Mike McNabb taking his place as of June 20th.

Game Developers’ Association of Australia CEO Greg Bondar has announced he will be resigning from his role after 18 months with the association, with COO Mike McNabb taking his place as of June 20th. Bondar made the announcement in a short release which said that he had had a "productive and enjoyable 18 months as CEO," but had "decided to move on to pursue other opportunities." The organization recently announced it would be partnering with similar UK trade association Tiga to encourage their respective governments to instigate tax breaks for the video games industry. GDAA officials also recently announced that according to data by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the local games industry had showed 15 percent year over year growth, with, as of June 2007, forty-five games businesses in Australia, employing over 1,400 people and generated a total income of $136.9 million during the year - an average of $3 million per business.
