The CMP Game Group has announced initial information on the 2007 Austin Game Developers Conference, which will take place September 5-7, 2007 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. Building off the success of the Austin Game Conference, which CMP acquired alongside The Game Initiative in October 2006, and utilizing the same dates, location, and advisory board, Austin GDC will feature four main conference tracks. The four tracks, loosely modeled after the successful elements of previous Austin Game Conferences, will be dedicated to online games, audio for games, writing for games and a new People's Choice track featuring the sessions community members want to see most. In addition to the four main tracks, Austin GDC will also feature a Game Career Seminar for students and job-changers researching entry into the game industry, and a Career Fair for experienced game developers seeking new job opportunities. Jane Pinckard, conference manager, commented of this announcement: "We're looking forward to the chance to improve upon the great work that has been done in Austin, and to grow the community and the event while maintaining its core values." Session content, speaker guidelines, registration information, and sales opportunities for the conference (run by the CMP Game Group, as is Gamasutra) will be available in March at the official Austin Game Developers Conference website.
