Following the high profile appointment of former Sony executive Phil Harrison as president and deputy general manager, officials from Infogrames have also revealed that Mathias Hautefort has been promoted to head of global distribution. Hautefort joined Infogrames, the French parent company of Atari, last year as chief operating officer and executive vice president in charge of worldwide publishing and production. He will now be responsible for Atari’s business in the U.S., Europe and Asia, with a primary goal of optimizing the company’s global distribution network. David Gardner, CEO of Infogrames, commented: “I am pleased to appoint Mathias Hautefort as head of global distribution. He is a key member of the company and as executive vice president for worldwide publishing and production, he has been successful to trigger a re-launch of the publishing initiatives of the group. "I am confident in his sales experience and his organizational and management skills to give a new impetus to group distribution,” he added. Hautefort stated: “My appointment as head of global distribution is a new exciting challenge for me. Recent appointments of David Gardner and Phil Harrison are not only a new momentum in Infogrames’ history but also in my career and I am thrilled to think it will be the most exciting one.”
