America Online representatives have indicated that the company will be launching a series of multiplayer games to run on its instant messaging software. The company is working with developer Wild Tangent to create basic action and puzzle games, some of which will require a fee from the user while other will be free as part of various sponsorship deals. In related news the deal between AOL and EA that saw the latter company providing games for the other’s service has been renegotiated so that AOL are now paying for EA’s content, rather than EA paying to appear on AOL.
