According to retailers and analysts, Sega is reportedly planning to drop the price of its remaining Dreamcast consoles on August 14 to $79, down from its current price of $99.
After the August price drop, Sega is reportedly planning to further reduce the price of the console to $49, either during the coming holiday season or early next year, in an effort to divest itself of its remaining hardware so the company can focus on its current cross-platform software development strategy. A Sega spokeswoman declined to comment on what she termed "speculation."
