Alias|Wavefront Releases Maya 5

Following up on its product announcement on April 7, Alias|Wavefront announced that Maya 5 is now available to customers from the company's web site, and boxed copies for new and upgrading customers will begin shipping on May 1. Maya 5 offers a new hardware renderer, vector renderer and various enhancements to its character animation, dynamics and polygonal modeling systems. The newest version can be downloaded by customers with annual maintenance contracts at this page. Maya Complete is priced at $1,999, and Maya Unlimited is priced at $6,999.
