3d navigation technology provider 3Dconnexion has announced that its 3d-tracking SpaceNavigator device now supports the recently announced Adobe Photoshop CS3 for both 2d and 3d navigation. The specially designed SpaceNavigator device allows users to more easily pan, zoom and rotate camera views and objects than a traditional mouse and keyboard, and with the latest update, users of the new Photoshop CS3 Extended can manipulate 3d objects previewed in the program. 3Dconnexion has also announced that the device can be used in both Adobe Photoshop CS2 and CS3 for panning and zooming traditional 2D images, which, the company notes, gives artists creating texture maps "effortless navigation between 2D and 3D imagery." Said Adobe senior director of product management Kevin Connor, “With Photoshop CS3 Extended, film, video and multimedia professionals, and graphic and Web designers can take advantage of the power of the Photoshop image-editing toolset and paint engine when editing 3D and motion-based content. The SpaceNavigator device helps round out the 3D workflow, providing creative professionals the flexibility to experiment and push the limits with Photoshop CS3 Extended.”
