Following widespread reports yesterday of problems with the newly-launched Guitar Hero World Tour's drum peripheral, publisher Activision is acknowledging the "sensitivity issues" and promising to address them with a "drum tuning kit." "We believe that these controllers are limited to ones in the earlier manufacturing stages," says the company in an official statement made available to Gamasutra. "While we believe that this was an isolated manufacturing issue, we are stepping our efforts to randomly test our drum controllers so customers can be assured they work properly." The company promises it will soon offer a "drum tuning kit that will enable players to fully optimize their drums." Activision's statement only addressed the issues with the drum kit sensitivity, and did not mention other apparent user issues, like the kit's reported lack of compatibility with PlayStation 3's Rock Band 2 as promised, or media-reported claims of wireless guitar controller problems as well. The publisher advised Guitar Hero World Tour players to visit its customer support site or call a hotline. "Our goal would be to immediately address any hardware issues Guitar Hero World Tour players have with the game," said the statement.
