Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Apparently responding to a request from Sony, Acclaim said today that the PS2 version of BMX XXX will be edited to eliminate the topless nudity.
Many large retailers, including Wal-Mart and Toys R Us, have already rejected the game based on its content, but Acclaim had said recently that only requests from console manufacturers would prompt the publisher to make content changes. The company said that the Xbox and Gamecube versions will still contain topless female characters. The game is scheduled to shop for the PS2 and Xbox on November 15, and will ship for the Gamecube towards the end of the month. When reporting its Q4 results last month, Acclaim said that the limited distribution of BMX XXX could hurt its results.
