Officials from German game developer 10tacle Studios have announced the formation of a new mobile division, to be based in Germany. 10tacle Studios Mobile is a wholly-owned subsidiary of 10tacle Studios and will use existing company franchises, such as GTR and Neocron, as well as creating new original game concepts and brands. The studio will be headed by industry veteran Alexandra Gerb. “Thanks to the formation of 10tacle Studios Mobile we were able to hire some of the best developers of mobile games. The team will be further expanded during the next months and we are aiming at releasing a first title... this year“, commented Gerb. “The market of mobile entertainment platforms is gaining more importance very quickly and is currently one of the segments with the strongest growth in the industry. Therefore it is only a logical consequence of our company’s development that we set up our own studio and thus further optimize the exploitation of our own licenses“, added Michele Pes, CEO of 10tacle Studios. The formation of the new studio follows a series of expansions for the company, following the acquisition of Belgian studio elsewhere Entertainment, now 10tacle Studios Belgium, in October last year and London based GTR co-developer Blimey! Games in February of this year.
