10tacle Snags Outcast Co-Creator, Belgian Studio

Representatives from German publisher 10tacle Studios have announced that the company has gained a majority share in Belgian development studio elseWhere Entertainment, changing the developer’s name in the process to 10tacle Studios Belgium. The key members of elseWhere's 22-person team, including CEO Yves Grolet, have a long history in the game industry, and are best known for their work at Belgian developer Appeal, creating the Infogrames-published 1999 PC arcade adventure Outcast and using an innovative mix of polygon and voxel-based graphics. The developer has recently been working on its new “Neo Reality” engine for the PC and current and next generation consoles, which is understood to be a major reason for 10tacle's acquisition. It is very important for us that thanks to our subsidiary 10tacle Studios Belgium we now have access to a high-end engine which we can use for our upcoming projects.
